What is Restart a Heart Day?
Restart a Heart Day is a Europe-wide initiative developed by the European Resuscitation Council.
It was launched in 2013 to teach members of the public how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.
The following year, Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS) offered all secondary schools in
Yorkshire the opportunity to take part and receive free CPR training for their pupils. On 16 October 2014, the Trust visited 49 schools and taught life-saving skills to over 11,500 pupils. Over the last three years we have provided CPR training to more than 51,000 youngsters.
What date is it?
Restart a Heart Day will take place on Monday 16 October 2017 when mass CPR training takes place across Europe.
We will be hosting the day for the whole of year 7 (250) completing the training which will be held in the gym. Local fire service officers will be supporting the training.
