GCSE

At GCSE, pupils cover 4 units over the 2 year course. Unit 1 in Year 10 is based around African Art where pupils learn and develop a range of skills to prepare them for submitting work for assessment in Year 11. Also in Year 10, pupils also move onto a unit based on Portraiture where they study a range of artists and styles. Moving into Year 11, pupils study Unit 3 which is based on Natural and Mechanical forms where pupils have more ownership over the focus of their investigations. Pupils complete their Art GCSE with a 10 hour art exam, based around a theme given by the exam board.
