Re-naming of the Library
The Library was re-named in honour of
our distiguished old boy who was a pupil at Lawnswood's forerunner,
Leeds Modern, from 1946-52.
On 9th December 2011,
Alan Bennett regaled the invited audience with an address on how
important libraries were to his education and development, before
performing the official ceremony and unveiling the commemorative plaque
in the library.
He then took questions from the audience as well as signing autographs and chatting with anyone who approached him.
A momentous and splendid evening! Click here to read the online article from the BBC
