Community picnic

On Friday 22nd June, a community picnic was held at school in aid of My Bright Kite, a charity that supports young refugees at home and abroad.

We would like to thank all the staff, families and students who came along and helped raise money for a cause so close to our hearts.

The sun shone, kites were flying high over the field whilst pupils and their families gathered on picnic blankets and tables to share food and relax in the sunshine. The PE staff organised a rounders game and Katie Mitchell and her group of performers gave us a wonderful musical piece to entertain us.

It was lovely to take time out and for staff be able to meet with some of our families on an informal basis sharing food and from around the world.

Thank you to all the staff that gave up their time to help out.. the bun-bakers, kite-flyers, face painters and Y7 tombola players – because of your support, we raised over £200! Although we are delighted by this total, the most important thing to us is creating a close-knit Lawnswood community and welcoming families from all over the world in celebration of our many cultures. Thank you for your generosity and community spirit!

Lawnswood School continues to be a good school!
