Children in Need : One Hand Worth a Million
On Friday 16th November, students across the school contributed to help raise money for Children in Need.
As a community, our school is very keen on making a positive impact on children’s lives across the UK and today, our students came up with a variety of ways to showcase that.
Coming in to school in pajamas as an attempt to raise awareness for Children in Need, sixth formers baked and held a bun sale at the back of the school. Most of the money raised from the bun sale come from our 50p frosted cupcakes but cookies and easter egg nests were also available. The famous life size yellow bear Pudsey was also stationed by the stall which attracted customers and made the whole situation even more enjoyable.
Another fundraising scheme our sixth formers came up with this year was the car-washing project. With sponges and some soapy water, they got to work and cleaned no less than 10 cars, all of which belong to teachers. At only £3 per car, both teachers and students help better lives of millions of children’s out there and make the world a better place no matter how small the impact might be.
At the end of day, we’re proud to say that we’ve raised over £300 for Children in Need. All of these funds are then going to be sent off to the less unfortunate families all over the country and we hope that our fundraising, along with tonnes of other schools in the UK, can provide a stepping stone for children to be living the life they actually deserve
